Cookie Policy

This policy explains how OwoDaily Limited ("OwoDaily", "we", "us") uses cookies and similar technologies on owodaily.com and the OwoDaily web application (the "Site"). It forms part of our Privacy Policy and is written to meet the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and the Nigeria Data Protection Commission's General Application and Implementation Directive 2025.

1. What cookies are

A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your device so that it can recognise your browser on later visits. "Similar technologies" means pixels, web beacons, tags and scripts placed on web pages or in emails that do a similar job. In this policy we call all of them "cookies".

Cookies can be first-party (set by us) or third-party (set by a company whose service we use, such as an analytics or advertising platform). They can be session cookies, which are deleted when you close your browser, or persistent cookies, which stay for a set period.

2. How we ask for your permission

When you first visit the Site you will see a cookie notice. Necessary cookies are set straight away because the Site cannot work without them. Analytics and advertising cookies are not set until you click "Accept" on the notice. You can click "Reject" instead, and the Site will still work.

You can change your choice at any time with the "Cookie settings" button at the top of this page, which you can reach from the "Cookies" link in the footer of every page. Withdrawing your consent stops new non-necessary cookies being set; it does not delete cookies already on your device, which you can remove through your browser.

Continuing to browse the Site, or accepting the Terms of Use when you register, is not treated as consent to analytics or advertising cookies.

We do not use cookies to sell your personal data, and we do not allow third parties to advertise other products to you on the Site.

You can ask us for the current list of the specific cookies set, with their names, providers and expiry dates, at [email protected]. We update that list whenever we add or remove a tool.

4. Third-party providers

Analytics and advertising cookies are set by Google, Meta and TikTok under their own privacy policies, and some of the data they collect is processed outside Nigeria. We transfer data to them only with your consent to those cookies, under the safeguards described in section 7 of our Privacy Policy. You can also control these providers directly:

• Google: adssettings.google.com and tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout
• Meta: your Facebook or Instagram ad preferences
• TikTok: your TikTok privacy and ad settings

5. Email tracking

Our emails may contain a small image that tells us whether an email was opened and whether a link was clicked. We use this to see which messages are useful and to stop sending emails that nobody reads. You can prevent this by turning off image loading in your email program, and you can stop marketing emails entirely with the unsubscribe link in every one.

6. Browser controls

All major browsers let you see, delete and block cookies through their settings. Blocking necessary cookies will stop parts of the Site working, including logging in and paying.

7. Changes to this policy

If we add a new category of cookie or a new third-party provider, we will update this policy, show you the cookie notice again so that you can make a fresh choice, and give notice of material changes by email and in-app at least 14 days before they take effect.
